Delivery Driver Charged After Stabbing in Oakland

Raymond Johnson, a delivery driver from Downey, has been charged with murder and attempted murder after a violent confrontation following the theft of his delivery van in Oakland. On January 18, Johnson used a tracking device to locate his stolen van on Russell Street in Berkeley and confronted a man and a woman, Laura Janet Nunez Antonio, unloading packages from it. A struggle ensued, during which Johnson allegedly stabbed the man and the woman, who subsequently stabbed him back. All three individuals were hospitalized, but Nunez Antonio succumbed to her injuries. The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office has filed charges against Johnson, while the other man involved has yet to face charges. The incident reflects a rise in violence involving delivery drivers in the Bay Area.
