London Youth Orchestra

The London Community Orchestra will host its final concert of the 2023-2024 season on August 3, featuring Broadway and Beatles medleys alongside movie themes, conducted by Jack Walker and guest conductor Marilyn Schraeder. Meanwhile, the National Youth Orchestra of the United States, comprised of talented musicians aged 16 to 19, is preparing for performances at Carnegie Hall and the Meyerson Symphony Center, showcasing new compositions and classic pieces under the direction of Teddy Abrams. Young musicians are also participating in 'World Orchestra Week' at Carnegie Hall, rehearsing major works like Gershwin's 'Rhapsody in Blue' with conductors Marin Alsop and Teddy Abrams, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and listening. The initiative highlights the dedication of 200 teens from across the U.S. who were selected from a competitive audition process. Additionally, the Rockford Symphony Youth Orchestra will present a chamber concert, offering a platform for student musicians to engage with orchestral music. These events collectively celebrate youth talent in the orchestral realm.
