Moore, Milanovic Receive Bans for Doping, Corruption
British tennis player Tara Moore has been banned for four years for doping after the Court of Arbitration for Sport upheld an International Tennis Integrity Agency appeal, overturning a prior decision that had cleared her due to alleged contaminated meat. Moore tested positive for anabolic steroids, specifically high levels of nandrolone, in 2022, and her provisional suspension time will be deducted from the ban, allowing her to return before 2029. The CAS determined Moore could not adequately explain the presence of the substance. Separately, Croatian player Lauro Milanovic received an eight-year ban and a fine for failing to cooperate with an investigation into alleged match-fixing and betting breaches. The ITIA's actions highlight the tennis authorities' commitment to strict anti-doping and anti-corruption enforcement. These bans serve as a warning that violations can lead to severe consequences across the sport.
