Multiple Teachers Arrested in Child Pornography Investigations

Multiple teachers in North America were arrested after cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children flagged uploads or downloads of child sexual abuse material. In Ruskin, Florida, 38-year-old Tyrone Lee Cliff, a math and science teacher at Bayshore Christian School, was arrested on an out-of-state warrant, charged with seven counts of possession of child sexual abuse material and is awaiting extradition to Spokane, Washington, where investigators traced the device. In Campbell River, British Columbia, 39-year-old Jeffrey Falk was charged after police say a search uncovered a substantial collection of images and videos; he left Campbell River Christian School when officials learned of the RCMP investigation and is due in court in November. In Appleton, Wisconsin, a teacher at Fox Valley Lutheran High School was arrested Oct. 29 following an NCMEC tip and faces one count of possession of child pornography; authorities say there is no evidence students were harmed and the investigation remains active. Authorities and the schools involved are notifying affected communities, offering internet-safety guidance, and asking anyone with information to contact investigators.
