Kyle Snyder Pleads Guilty After Prostitution Sting
Olympic gold medalist and former Ohio State wrestler Kyle Snyder was arrested on May 9 in a Columbus, Ohio prostitution sting as one of 16 men apprehended. He was initially charged with engaging in prostitution, a first-degree misdemeanor, after allegedly responding to an online escort ad and paying an undercover officer for a sexual act at a hotel. Snyder now plans to plead guilty to a reduced charge of disorderly conduct, a fourth-degree misdemeanor, carrying a maximum penalty of 30 days in jail and a $250 fine. Following his arrest, the U.S. Center for SafeSport suspended him. Snyder addressed the incident on social media, expressing gratitude for support and a renewed focus on faith and family. He is still scheduled to compete for a spot at the Wrestling World Championships.
