Viking Launches Exclusive China Itineraries

Viking has marked its historic return to China with the inaugural voyage of the Viking Yi Dun from Shanghai to Hong Kong (Shenzhen). The new itineraries, set to run from September to November, offer exclusive access to rarely-visited coastal destinations, previously unavailable to international travelers. Torstein Hagen, Chairman and CEO of Viking, emphasized the cultural richness and historical significance of China, noting their long-standing introduction of the country to guests through Yangtze River itineraries. The launch was celebrated in Shanghai with local officials and cultural performances, receiving enthusiastic feedback from guests about their immersive experiences. Looking ahead, Viking plans to expand its presence in Asia with new itineraries that include both China and Japan in 2025.
