Typhoon Yinxing Approaches Philippines and Hong Kong

Currently located 590 km from Baler, Aurora, the typhoon boasts winds of 120 kph and is expected to affect northern Cagayan province by the end of the week. Meanwhile, in Hong Kong, the storm is projected to come within 400 km by Sunday, with a gradual intensification anticipated. The Hong Kong Observatory warns of possible severe weather conditions influenced by a dry northeast monsoon, which may both strengthen and weaken Yinxing. As it moves northwest at about 22 kph, Yinxing is also forecasted to affect southern China and the East Sea, where it may encounter cold air masses that could lead to further weakening.
