Largest Dinosaur Footprint Site Discovered in UK

A significant discovery in Oxfordshire, UK, has revealed the country's largest dinosaur trackway site, featuring around 200 footprints from two types of dinosaurs: the long-necked sauropod Cetiosaurus and the carnivorous Megalosaurus. Quarry worker Gary Johnson's initial observation of unusual bumps led to a full excavation involving over 100 researchers, resulting in five distinct trackways that extend up to 150 meters. This site not only showcases well-preserved tracks that provide insights into the behavior of these ancient creatures but may also hold more undiscovered footprints. The excavation utilized modern techniques, including drone photography and 3D modeling, to document the findings. Meanwhile, recent research has also identified a new burrowing dinosaur, Fona herzogae, discovered in Utah, which adds to the understanding of dinosaur behavior. These revelations challenge traditional perceptions of dinosaur activities and habitats, illustrating a more complex ecological history.
