BBC, HBO Release First Look at 2026 Drama Half Man

HBO and the BBC have unveiled first-look images for the upcoming six-episode drama series Half Man, created, written, and executive produced by Emmy-winning Richard Gadd. The series stars Gadd and BAFTA-winning Jamie Bell as estranged brothers Ruben and Niall, whose reunion at Niall's wedding triggers a violent event that unfolds their complex relationship over nearly 40 years, from troubled youth to adulthood. Set against the backdrop of a changing city and world, the drama explores the multifaceted nature of masculinity through the highs and lows of their bond. Supporting cast includes Neve McIntosh and Marianne McIvor as the brothers' mothers, alongside a strong ensemble of actors portraying various roles across the decades. Directed by Alexandra Brodski and Eshref Reybrouck, Half Man was filmed in and around Glasgow, Scotland, and will premiere in 2026 on HBO Max in the U.S., Latin America, and Europe, and on BBC iPlayer, BBC One, and BBC Scotland in the UK and Ireland. The series is produced by Mam Tor Productions, a Banijay UK company, with international distribution managed by Banijay Rights outside of BBC and HBO territories.
