Warren Buffett has tasked his three children with allocating his entire fortune of $143.1 billion to charities after his death, a responsibility that his eldest son, Howard, describes as 'not so easy.' The children—Howard, Susie, and Peter—will have ten years to distribute the funds, and Howard emphasized the importance of being smart and intentional in their giving. They plan to collaborate and leverage their collective experiences to make impactful decisions. Howard also expressed his belief that wealthy individuals should give away their money during their lifetimes rather than establishing perpetual foundations. While it is uncertain which organizations they will support, the siblings have already donated over $15 billion from their father's funds through their respective foundations since 2006. The Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation, chaired by Susie, has notably contributed $8.4 billion primarily for reproductive health initiatives.
