Valančiūnas Commits to Nuggets After Kings Trade

Jonas Valančiūnas has confirmed he will honor his contract with the Denver Nuggets for the 2025-26 NBA season, despite a significant offer from Panathinaikos in Greece. Nuggets executive Ben Tenzer and head coach David Adelman stressed there are no concerns about Valančiūnas reporting to Denver, following a trade from the Sacramento Kings that sent Dario Šarić the other way. The move is part of Denver's broader offseason overhaul aimed at strengthening depth behind MVP Nikola Jokić after a disappointing playoff exit. Valančiūnas, entering his 14th NBA season, posted averages of 10.4 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 2.0 assists last year. Denver has refused to allow a contract buyout, ensuring Valančiūnas remains with the team. He will join the Nuggets after playing for Lithuania in EuroBasket this summer.
