WNBA Completes Head Coaching Appointments

The WNBA has filled all head coaching positions for the 2025 season, completing a record seven hires this offseason, with Chris Koclanes joining Dallas and Sydney Johnson taking over in Washington. The new coaching landscape features a variety of backgrounds: three former college head coaches, two WNBA assistants, and one international coach, with Stephanie White returning to Indiana as the only former WNBA head coach among the new hires. Despite the addition of Natalie Nakase, the first Asian American to lead a WNBA franchise, there has been a significant decrease in diversity, with only three Black head coaches remaining, including Noelle Quinn, the league's only Black female head coach. Meanwhile, the league will see a total of seven women and six men coaching its 13 teams. The new coaches inherit teams with promising talent, setting the stage for an exciting upcoming season.
