Delta Air Lines has inaugurated its first nonstop route between Tulsa International Airport (TUL) and New York LaGuardia International Airport (LGA), starting September 4, 2024. This route aims to address the demand gap for direct flights between the two cities, with 116 passengers traveling each way daily. Delta will operate a daily flight year-round using its 76-seat Embraer E175 regional jets, managed by Delta Connection carriers such as SkyWest Airlines and Republic Airways. This new service competes with American Airlines, which launched a similar route two years ago, potentially increasing travel options and convenience for Tulsans. Tulsa currently offers 22 nonstop destinations, and this new route is seen as a significant milestone for the local community. The first Delta flight from Tulsa to LaGuardia took off at 7:55 a.m. on the launch day, marking a new era of enhanced travel connectivity for Tulsa residents.
