Gardaí are conducting a search at the former family home of eight-year-old Kyran Durnin in Dundalk, Co Louth, as part of a murder investigation following his disappearance. Kyran was reported missing along with his mother on August 30, 2024, and was last seen around August 28, 2024. Chief Superintendent Alan McGovern confirmed the property was taken into Garda possession and emphasized that current tenants are not connected to the investigation. Despite extensive inquiries, Gardaí believe Kyran is missing, presumed dead, and are seeking any evidence regarding his whereabouts. The investigation is being conducted with the assistance of other state agencies, including Tusla. Gardaí have established a dedicated incident room in Drogheda for this ongoing case.
