George, 34, was initially set to co-captain England in their second Test against Argentina but has withdrawn to join the Lions in Brisbane ahead of their first Test against Australia. This marks George's third Lions tour, having previously been part of the squads in 2017 and 2021, and he had been training with the Lions in Portugal and Dublin prior to their departure for Australia. Theo Dan replaces George in England's starting lineup, with Curtis Langdon moving to the bench.
