Police Hunt Dog Walker Suspect After Two Assaults in Scotland
Two separate violent assaults involving dog walkers have recently occurred in Scotland. In Airdrie, a 41-year-old dog walker was punched to the ground and further assaulted by two men who exited a van, causing facial injuries that required hospital treatment. Police are actively seeking information and reviewing CCTV footage to identify the suspects, who are described only as white men possibly wearing work gear. In Inverness, a 72-year-old man was assaulted in the Merkinch Nature Reserve by a man described as white, 35-40 years old, stocky, about 5ft 8in tall, with short brown hair, who was walking a medium-sized dog; the victim was treated and discharged from Raigmore Hospital. Authorities have appealed to the public for witnesses or footage to aid in both investigations. Additionally, in Ipswich, a man named Roy Barclay, accused of murdering a dog walker, has a history of violent assault, including a previous grievous bodily harm conviction involving an elderly victim.
