Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth issued a shelter-in-place order after reports of an armed person near the Nenetta Curton Center Building. The alert was activated at approximately 2:30 p.m. and lifted at 3:49 p.m. when the all-clear was given by Fort Worth police after apprehending the suspect, with no reports of injuries or gunfire. Meanwhile, Colorado State University advised residents of Laurel Village, Durward Hall, and Corbett Hall to shelter in place due to unspecified police activity. Both universities used social media to communicate updates regarding these safety measures. Investigations at both locations are ongoing.
