Waukesha Alderman Cory Payne Arrested for Stalking Ex-Girlfriend

Waukesha Alderman Cory Payne was arrested on February 17 for allegedly stalking his former girlfriend, who reported that he had been harassing her for weeks and knew her whereabouts. Following the investigation initiated by the Waukesha Police Department, Payne was booked into the Waukesha County Jail, with the investigation still ongoing. This incident is not Payne's first legal trouble; he was previously convicted in 2023 for misdemeanor battery and disorderly conduct after slapping an 8-year-old girl. In that case, he received a year of probation as part of a plea agreement that downgraded the charges from felony to misdemeanor. The sheriff's office has confirmed that the investigation into the stalking allegations is still active, and there are currently no formal charges filed against Payne. His current term as an alderman runs until April 2025.
