My Chemical Romance Receives Key to Belleville at MetLife Stadium Show

My Chemical Romance was honored with a ceremonial Key to the City of Belleville, New Jersey, during their August 9, 2025, concert at MetLife Stadium, marking a homecoming for band members Gerard Way, Mikey Way, and Frank Iero who grew up in Belleville. Mayor Michael Melham personally presented the keys onstage during their performance of "Welcome to the Black Parade," a song that had previously opened his 2024 State of the Township address, symbolizing the band's deep roots and worldwide impact. Each band member received a gold-coated key plaque inscribed with their names and a QR code linking to the mayor's speech recognizing their musical legacy and influence. The concert was part of their "Long Live the Black Parade" tour celebrating their landmark 2006 album, "The Black Parade," which helped the band achieve mainstream success. The band, including member Ray Toro from nearby Kearny, reunited in 2020 after disbanding in 2013 and continues to attract dedicated fans worldwide.
