Five Dead in Arizona Wrong-Way Crash; DUI Suspected
A wrong-way crash on US 93 near Kingman, Arizona, killed five people, including a child, when a Jeep traveling north in the southbound lane struck a Hyundai station wagon head-on, igniting both vehicles. The victims were two men in the Jeep and a man, woman, and child in the Hyundai, all of whom died from the crash and subsequent fire. Authorities suspect impairment played a role in the crash and continue to investigate. The Arizona Department of Public Safety reports a rising trend in fatal wrong-way crashes this year, with impairment suspected in most cases. This incident has heightened concerns about drunk driving and road safety across the state. The victims have not yet been publicly identified.
