Family Requests Death Declaration for Missing Student

The parents of Sudiksha Konanki, a 20-year-old University of Pittsburgh student who disappeared in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, have requested that authorities declare her dead. This request comes nearly two weeks after she went missing, with authorities believing she drowned, although no body has been recovered. Joshua Riibe, the last known person to see her alive, has cooperated with the investigation and is not considered a suspect, although his passport has been confiscated, and he is under police surveillance.
