The tragic mobile home fire in Tempe near Kyrene and Baseline roads on August 25 has claimed the lives of all five family members inside. Valerie Magana-Gonzalez, 22, succumbed to her injuries after fighting for her life for over two weeks, making her the fifth victim. The fire also resulted in the deaths of Enrique 'Junior' Ruiz, 24, their daughters Ellany Ruiz, 18 months, and Ariaelly Ruiz, 3, as well as Enrique’s mother, Monica Ruiz, 51. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire and have not determined if the smoke detectors were functioning. The community is encouraged to provide any information to the Tempe Police Department and donations are being accepted to assist the family. Memorial services for the victims are scheduled for next week.
