Habitat for Humanity, Owens Corning Aid Hundreds of U.S. Veterans Nationwide
Habitat for Humanity is actively supporting U.S. military veterans by providing home repairs and new housing across the country. In Wicomico County, Maryland, volunteers repaired the back deck of Army veteran Nicolas Grant’s home as part of their annual 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance. Meanwhile, in Webb City, Missouri, the Joplin Area Habitat for Humanity’s Veterans Build program is celebrating the dedication of a new home for Navy veteran Janene Houskeeper and her family, continuing a program established through the generosity of WWII veteran Harold Layton. In Clermont, Florida, Habitat for Humanity of Lake-Sumter, in partnership with the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project and Janney Roofing, is renovating Army veteran Michael Austine’s home by replacing the roof and remodeling the interior. The Owens Corning project has helped nearly 700 veterans since 2016, providing critical home repairs to improve their quality of life. These initiatives highlight Habitat for Humanity’s commitment to honoring veterans by building homes, communities, and hope.
