Shiffrin and Johnson Win Gold at World Champs
American skier Breezy Johnson emerged victorious at the World Championships in Saalbach-Hinterglemm, Austria, winning the downhill race with a top speed of 86 mph, after overcoming a knee injury and a 14-month ban for anti-doping whereabouts failures. Johnson, alongside Mikaela Shiffrin, won gold in the inaugural team combined event, marking Shiffrin's record-tying 15th world medal. Indian hurdler Tejas Shirse continued his dominance by winning his third consecutive gold at the National Games 2025, setting a new meet record in the 110m hurdles. Shirse's victory adds to his successful season, where he also broke India's national record for the 60m hurdles twice in one day. Both athletes are looking forward to future competitions, including world championships.
