A police chase involving a stolen Kia led to a crash into a building in Sterling Heights early Wednesday morning, with the pursuit reaching speeds up to 100 mph. The incident began around 3 a.m. when police spotted the stolen vehicle on Metro Parkway and attempted to stop it, but the driver fled, navigating through subdivisions and running red lights. After losing control while attempting to turn onto Van Dyke Avenue, the Kia crashed into a building at 44011 Van Dyke in Utica. Three suspects exited the vehicle and fled on foot; two 16-year-olds were apprehended shortly after, while a third suspect remains at large. Police are actively working to identify and apprehend the missing suspect, with the arrested teens currently held at the Macomb County Juvenile Detention Center. Sterling Heights Police Captain Mario Bastianelli commended the officers for their proactive efforts to maintain safety in the community.
