Huawei, UBTech Plan Humanoid Robot Deployment for Factories, Homes

Huawei Technologies and UBTech Robotics have formed a strategic partnership to accelerate the development and large-scale adoption of humanoid robots in both industrial and domestic settings. The collaboration aims to transition humanoid robots from laboratory innovations to practical use in smart factories and homes, including the development of bipedal and wheeled service robots. A key focus is the creation of an innovation center dedicated to "embodied intelligence," integrating cognitive AI processes with physical robotics. Huawei will contribute its advanced Ascend and Kunpeng AI processors, cloud computing capabilities, and large AI models, while UBTech brings expertise as a leader in smart service robots, including China's first commercialized life-sized bipedal humanoid robot. This partnership aligns with broader Chinese efforts to enhance robotic adoption across sectors and reflects UBTech's ambition to make intelligent robots a part of everyday life. Following the announcement, UBTech's shares rose nearly 10 percent, signaling positive market reception.
