Chando’s Tacos, a popular Mexican food chain based in Sacramento and owned by Lisandro "Chando" Madrigal, has temporarily closed all its remaining locations due to economic challenges and circumstances beyond their control. The chain, which expanded rapidly to about a dozen locations including one in Georgia, had contracted in recent years with multiple closures across the capital region and beyond. Madrigal, who started the business in 2010 while working for Apple, expressed gratitude to customers and promised something new is coming, though he has not provided further details. The company's website and social media accounts were taken offline around the time of the closures, and Madrigal plans to hold a press conference to discuss the situation. Chando’s Tacos was known for its high-quality, affordable Mexican food and had built a loyal customer base in the Sacramento area. Despite the closures, the owner indicated the shutdowns are not permanent and thanked the community for their support.
