Walk-on girls are set to return to televised darts for the first time since they were controversially removed in January 2018 due to concerns over sexism. The World Seniors Darts Tour (WSDT) has announced that former walk-on girls Daniella Allfree and Charlotte Wood will serve as ambassadors and make their comeback at the World Seniors Matchplay in October, which will be broadcast on TNT Sports and BBC iPlayer. The initial removal of walk-on girls sparked significant debate, with critics deeming the practice outdated and sexist, while supporters argued it was a traditional part of the sport. Both Allfree and Wood expressed their excitement about returning, emphasizing their enjoyment of the role and their view that it adds glamour to the sport.
