Jason Cornett charged with vehicular homicide in Oldham County

Jason Cornett, 54, has been arrested and charged with vehicular homicide following a hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of 75-year-old Margaret Preble in Oldham County. Cornett was initially charged with leaving the scene and tampering with evidence after Preble was struck by his vehicle on November 11, 2024. New evidence led police to believe that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash, prompting the upgraded charges. Following his arrest on January 15, 2025, Cornett is held on a $500,000 bond and has a preliminary hearing set for January 29. Preble's husband, Laurence, expressed his heartbreak over the loss, emphasizing the tragic circumstances surrounding his wife's death. Another individual, Zoe Wolfe, has also been charged in connection with the case for allegedly assisting Cornett.
