South Alabama Tops Western Michigan 30-23
Bishop Davenport led South Alabama to a 30-23 victory over Western Michigan in the Salute to Veterans Bowl, accounting for three touchdowns and 356 total yards. The Jaguars, under first-year head coach Major Applewhite, finished the season with a 7-6 record while marking their second consecutive bowl victory. Davenport completed 15 of 24 passes for 271 yards and added 85 rushing yards, with standout performances from Jeremiah Webb, who caught six passes for 182 yards and two touchdowns. Kentrel Bullock sealed the win with a 22-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter, finishing with 130 yards on 17 carries. Despite an early 10-0 lead by the Broncos, South Alabama rallied to dominate offensively, outgaining Western Michigan 537 to 320 yards. The victory also marks South Alabama's third straight winning season.
