Salford Doctor Sentenced for Patient Assaults

Dr. Wayne Davis, a 69-year-old GP from Salford, has been sentenced to eight years in prison after being found guilty of sexually assaulting two female patients during unnecessary medical examinations between 1995 and 2006. The case, brought to light by the bravery of the victims who reported their experiences in May 2020, revealed that Davis abused his trusted position to carry out intimate procedures under false pretenses. He was convicted of assault by penetration and indecent assault, while denying the charges throughout the investigation, claiming the examinations were necessary. The Crown Prosecution Service emphasized the importance of the victims' testimonies and the support they received during the prosecution. Davis is now required to register as a sex offender for life.
