Pakistan, China Launch PRSS-1, Plan Astronaut Mission
Pakistan successfully launched its Remote Sensing Satellite-1 (PRSS-1) from China’s Xichang Satellite Launch Center in partnership with China Electronics Technology Group Corporation and MICROSAT China. The satellite entered its planned orbit and features advanced imaging capabilities designed to enhance earth observation for precision agriculture, urban planning, disaster management, environmental monitoring, and resource management. PRSS-1 will support national infrastructure projects, particularly under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), enabling geohazard risk mapping and sustainable development. The mission deepens technological cooperation between Pakistan and China, with officials celebrating it as a foundation for further space collaborations. Notably, future plans include sending a Pakistani astronaut to China’s Tiangong space station. This achievement is expected to strengthen Pakistan's socio-economic development and national resilience.
