2024 Student Academy Awards Winners Announced

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the winners of the 51st Student Academy Awards, with 15 students recognized from a total of 2,683 entries submitted from 738 colleges globally. Notably, this year's awards will be presented in London at the ODEON Luxe Leicester Square on October 14, departing from the traditional venue in Beverly Hills. Among the winners are Akshit Kumar from India's National Institute of Design, Birdy Wei-Ting Hung from San Francisco State University, and Dori Walker from Brown University. This year marks the first awards for several institutions, including the National Institute of Design and Digital Hollywood University. The winning films are now eligible for the 2024 Oscars in various short film categories, continuing a tradition that has seen past winners garner 67 nominations and 15 awards. Gold, silver, and bronze placements will be revealed at the upcoming ceremony, which will also provide networking opportunities for the winners.
