Worcestershire County Council is expanding its on-demand bus service to cover more rural areas, including Hartlebury, Ombersley, and surrounding communities starting November 2025, with a further expansion planned for January 2026 to serve the Wyre Forest District. This service, currently operating in Bromsgrove, Malvern, and Wychavon, allows passengers to book rides through a free mobile app that offers real-time updates and directs users to virtual bus stops. The expansion aims to provide a sustainable, affordable, and flexible transport option tailored to rural communities, with integration of zones expected by April 2026 to enable travel between different service areas. The service operates Monday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with fares set at £2.50 per person and discounted rates for additional passengers and concessionary cardholders, including free travel for veterans. Worcestershire on Demand is powered by transport technology provider Via, which highlights the service as a modern, technology-enabled solution improving rural public transport accessibility.
