Alabama Man Arrested After Stolen Vehicle, School Lockdown, Lee County Pursuit

A 19-year-old man from Montgomery, Alabama, Malachi L. Griggs, was arrested in Lee County, Mississippi, following the theft of a vehicle from a business in the South Lee Industrial Park. After being spotted behind Shannon Primary School, which was placed on a soft lockdown as a precaution, Griggs assaulted an officer and fled on foot during a police encounter.
