Topshop Plans Irish High Street Return with Donegal Store

Topshop is set to make a physical comeback in Ireland with a new store opening in McElhinney’s department store in Ballybofey, Donegal, on August 21. This marks the brand's first physical presence in Ireland since it closed all its stores following the collapse of its parent company, Arcadia Group, in 2020. The brand was acquired by online retailer ASOS in 2021, which later sold a majority stake to the Danish retail group Bestseller, and is now relaunching physical stores in select European locations including France and Denmark. Topshop will also be stocked at Irish department store Shaws across five locations, expanding its reach in the country. The return reflects a strategic shift towards a balance of online and brick-and-mortar retail, with Topshop collaborating with strong retail partners to reestablish its high street presence. The brand’s managing director and retail partners have expressed excitement about the relaunch and the positive reaction expected from customers.
