Dortmund Sacks Sahin; Ten Hag Considered

Borussia Dortmund has sacked head coach Nuri Sahin following a string of poor performances, including a recent Champions League defeat to Bologna, leaving them 10th in the Bundesliga standings. While Dortmund had initially hoped for success under Sahin, the club has struggled, winning only one of their last nine games. Reports suggest former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is a potential replacement, having been seen attending Dortmund matches and possessing a strong relationship with club advisor Matthias Sammer. However, Ten Hag's appointment is complicated by financial considerations due to his ongoing contract with United. Dortmund is also considering other candidates, including former Bayern Munich coach Niko Kovac and VfB Stuttgart's Sebastian Hoeneß, the latter of whom might only be pursued in the summer. Interim coach Mike Tullberg will lead the team while the club searches for a permanent solution.
