The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday when police approached a couple leaving the store, having identified them as occupants of an unoccupied stolen vehicle parked nearby. In response to the man's actions, at least one officer discharged their weapon, fatally wounding him despite attempts to provide medical aid. The woman accompanying him was detained and later released, as investigations into her involvement in the vehicle theft continue.
