Utah Nurse Charged with Murdering Former Roommate for Insurance Money
Meggan Randall Sundwall, a 47-year-old registered nurse from Utah, has been arrested on charges of aggravated murder and obstruction of justice for allegedly injecting her friend, Kacee Lyn Terry, with insulin to collect on a life insurance policy. The investigation began on August 12, 2024, when first responders found Terry unresponsive in her bedroom, where Sundwall claimed she had been for 'a couple of hours.' Despite Sundwall's assertions that Terry had terminal cancer and a do-not-resuscitate order, medical examinations revealed that Terry had no health issues or cancer, with an autopsy confirming this. Evidence, including thousands of texts between the two, suggested Sundwall believed she was the beneficiary of a rumored $1.5 million life insurance policy. Following the incident, authorities found a diabetic needle at the scene, although Terry was not diabetic, and subsequently discovered that Sundwall had not been designated as her power of attorney. Kacee Terry was declared brain dead and died three days after being transported to the hospital, raising serious concerns about Sundwall's intentions and actions leading up to her death.
