Snap Debuts Advanced AR Spectacles for Developers

Snap Inc. has introduced its fifth-generation AR Spectacles, powered by a new operating system called Snap OS. The glasses feature hand and voice controls, a larger field of view, and advanced AR capabilities, but are currently only available to developers at $99 per month with a one-year commitment. The hardware includes twin Qualcomm processors and can overlay digital images on real-world views. Snap aims to position these glasses as more user-friendly than traditional VR headsets, though the limited 45-minute battery life and large size may deter everyday use. The company hopes to build a developer base to create compelling AR experiences before wider consumer release.
