The Israeli military confirmed that Bilha Yinon, the last person previously considered missing from the October 7 Hamas attack, was killed that day. Her death was verified through forensic evidence, following extensive investigative efforts by the IDF and other agencies. Initially thought to be dead alongside her husband Yakov, the IDF's conclusion was retracted due to a lack of DNA evidence until recent findings allowed for confirmation. The attack on their community of Netiv Ha’asara, which involved militants infiltrating via paragliders, resulted in the deaths of 1,198 people, predominantly civilians. Currently, 111 individuals are believed to remain captive in Gaza, with 39 reported dead. Bilha and Yakov Yinon are survived by their five children and 11 grandchildren.
