Spirit Halloween Expands 1500 Seasonal Stores Across US

Spirit Halloween, the largest specialty Halloween retailer in the U.S., is rapidly expanding its seasonal store presence across multiple states including Michigan, Maryland, New Mexico, and Indiana, with over 1,500 locations nationwide. These pop-up stores typically open from late August to September, offering a wide range of costumes, decorations, animatronics, and accessories, with some locations providing unique experiences like the "Madison Scare Park" haunted subway station. The company is also actively recruiting for more than 50,000 seasonal employees nationwide to support its operations. Despite a slight expected dip in overall Halloween spending in 2024, Spirit Halloween continues to attract consumers with new animatronic products and promotional discounts. Many new stores are taking over former retail spaces such as Big Lots, Party City, and Buy Buy Baby, indicating a strategic use of vacant commercial properties. Additionally, Spirit Halloween supports charitable causes, including raising funds for pediatric hospitals.
