Suresh Garimella Welcomed as University of Arizona President

Missouri State University-West Plains will host its annual State of the University address today at 11:30 a.m., featuring President Richard 'Biff' Williams and Chancellor Dennis Lancaster, focusing on enrollment, budget, and growth plans. The event was rescheduled from its original time due to a groundbreaking ceremony for a railroad overpass project attended by Governor Mike Parson. Meanwhile, the University of Hawaii is set to announce its new president within two weeks, with finalists Wendy Hensel and Dr. Julian Heilig being interviewed on October 16. The new president will replace David Lassner, who has served since 2013. Additionally, Dr. Suresh Garimella was welcomed as the 23rd President of the University of Arizona, previously serving as president of the University of Vermont and an executive at Purdue University, and will also take on the role of University Distinguished Professor.
