Baltimore Man Sentenced to Life for Road Rage Murder

Rylan Picard-Kevin Harris, 31, has been sentenced to life in prison for the road rage shooting that killed Shalia Hendrix in Essex, Maryland, on May 5, 2023. Harris pled guilty to second-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder after shooting Hendrix in the back while she was driving with a friend. Following the shooting, Hendrix's car crashed into a wooded area, leading to her death from the gunshot wound. The incident was determined to be a random act of violence, with no known connection between the victims and Harris. Surveillance footage played a crucial role in identifying Harris as the shooter, as it showed his car returning home after the crime. Darashea Gross, who was with Harris during the incident, has also pled guilty to being an accessory after the fact.
