Andy Cowell Named Aston Martin Group CEO

Andy Cowell, former managing director of Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains, has been appointed as the new group chief executive of Aston Martin, replacing Martin Whitmarsh, starting on October 1, 2024. Cowell, instrumental in Mercedes' dominance in Formula One, will lead Aston Martin during a pivotal transition to Honda engines in 2026 with ambitions of becoming a world championship-winning team. Co-owner Lawrence Stroll emphasized Cowell's crucial role alongside strategic partnerships with Honda and Aramco. Whitmarsh, stepping down by the year's end, praised Cowell as an incredible asset.
