V&A Museum to Open David Bowie Centre

The V&A Museum in London is set to open the David Bowie Centre on September 13, 2025, as part of its new East Storehouse, which will feature over 90,000 items of Bowie memorabilia, including handwritten lyrics and costumes from his Ziggy Stardust era. The East Storehouse will also host a Glastonbury Festival exhibition and will be part of a larger V&A East Museum opening in spring 2026. The centre aims to showcase Bowie's multifaceted creativity through curated displays, audio-visual installations, and study areas that allow for personal exploration of the Bowie archive. This initiative follows the V&A's acquisition of Bowie's archive, supported by his estate and the Blavatnik Family Foundation. Admission to both the East Storehouse and the Bowie Centre will be free. The project is anticipated to enhance access to national collections in an area known for its rich cultural heritage.
