Costco has recalled over 3,300 pounds of its Kirkland Signature Ahi Tuna Wasabi Poke due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, traced back to green onions used in the product supplied by a third party. The recall affects products with a pack date of September 18, 2025, and a sell-by date of September 22, 2025, sold in the deli sections of Costco stores across more than 30 states. Customers are urged not to consume the product and to dispose of it safely or return it for a full refund; no illnesses have been reported to date. Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious health risks, especially for young children, elderly individuals, pregnant women, and those with weakened immune systems, with symptoms ranging from mild gastrointestinal issues to severe invasive infections. The companies involved, including Western United Fish Company (doing business as Annasea Foods Group) and the green onion supplier, are investigating the root cause of the contamination.
