Bronze Age Gold Jewellery Stolen in Targeted Raid at Cardiff Museum

Bronze Age gold jewellery was stolen in a targeted burglary at St Fagans National Museum of History in Cardiff during the early hours of October 6. Two suspects forced entry into the main building and took several items from a display case in the "Wales is ..." gallery, according to South Wales Police. Detective Inspector Bob Chambers emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and urged anyone with information to come forward. The museum expressed sadness over the theft, thanked police for their swift response, and confirmed that staff on duty during the incident were unharmed. The stolen items include significant Bronze Age artefacts such as bracelets and a lunala, which held cultural importance. The museum continues to cooperate with authorities while maintaining regular operations, including hosting the Museums Association annual conference.
