Wisconsin Man Charged With Homicide After Nebraska Chase

Gavin Thompson, 23, of Wisconsin, was arrested in Nebraska after a police pursuit led to the discovery of the body of 67-year-old Dorinda Segebrecht, a missing woman from Dodgeville, Wisconsin, in his vehicle. The Nebraska State Patrol initiated the chase after receiving a tip about a car linked to a Wisconsin missing persons case, which ended when Thompson crashed into a creek and attempted to flee on foot before being apprehended following a four-hour search. Authorities confirmed Segebrecht had died before the crash. Thompson faces multiple charges in Nebraska and is expected to be extradited to Wisconsin on charges including first-degree intentional homicide, burglary, hiding a corpse, and operating a vehicle without the owner's consent.
