Florida Doctors Indicted for Child Exploitation

Pete Supan, a 38-year-old internal medicine doctor from Bradenton, Florida, has been indicted on federal charges for allegedly soliciting nude images from a 14-year-old girl in Utah via Reddit. Following a cyber tip, detectives confirmed that Supan posed as a 19-year-old and engaged in explicit conversations with the minor before he was arrested on January 9. During the investigation, authorities searched his home and seized multiple devices for forensic examination. Supan admitted to soliciting explicit images from the victim and sending her his own explicit photos. He faces severe penalties, including potential life imprisonment, if convicted. Meanwhile, another Florida doctor, Stephen Andrew Leedy, has also been charged with exploiting minors, including directing harmful self-harm behavior towards a 13-year-old girl who was later found dead, highlighting a troubling trend of sexual exploitation by medical professionals in the state.
